Kathy Starling received her Bachelor’s from Eastern Washington University and her J.D from Georgia State University School of Law in 2013. She is licensed to practice law in Texas, the Western District of Texas, and immigration court. Kathy enjoys teaching and has given a number of presentations for legal conferences including Poverty Law and TCDLA sponsored events. Kathy has worked for several legal non-profits during her career and is currently working to defend those arrested on the Texas border for criminal trespass under “Operation Lone Star”.
Kathy seeks better understanding other people’s culture through open communication and engaging in experiences outside of her comfort zoom. Since graduating high school Kathy has lived in 7 different states as well as Canada. Like Mark Twain, she believes that “travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness”, and that we need to be the change we hope to see in this world.
